Wang Su was born in 1989 in Shandong, China, studied in Singapore and the United Kingdom and now lives and works in Greece and Beijing. Her work has attracted wide attention for its strong colors, symbolism, and exaggerated perspective. Wang Su is a typical "World Citizen" artist, whose paintings form surreal landscapes with strong exotic totems in the multicultural collision of cross-cultural millennials such as "cultural mixing". While studying at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, she toured major art galleries in Europe and created a large number of ready-made collage art influenced by Dadaism, which was the starting point for her to explore her own style. After graduation, she chose to settle down in Greece and dabbled in the classics of ancient Greek philosophy. Inspired by Aristotle's metaphysics, she began to start from the painting itself, put aside the subjective feelings about the appearance of things, and focused on the ideology in the subconscious. The tribute to Georgia O 'Keeffe made her more courageous to explore her subconscious world. Wang Su is good at using high-saturation contrast color combinations to present a strong visual effect. Starting from relatively simple pictures, she uses surrealistic images from flowers, trees, water, sunlight to urban landscapes and desires to fully construct the metaphysical ideal world deep inside the artist's heart, guiding the viewer through the dynamic space. Finally, reach the light of the end, appreciate the existence of all things and the voice of the soul, and reshape the "second nature" in the dream. |
